BH Cosmetics x Missy Lynn Eyeshadow and Highlight Palette Review and Swatches
The other day I realized that I never posted my swatches or my review of the BH Cosmetics x Missy Lynn Palette. But better late than never, right? For those that might not know or remember, last year vlogger, military member, and makeup artist, Missy Lynn (Start2FinishMUA) teamed up with BH Cosmetics for the Missy Lynn 8-pan eyeshadow and highlighter palette. The collaboration was huge! It was her first and she teamed up with a brand that makes highly-pigmented, cruelty-free, affordable makeup. The success of the collaboration lead to a follow up 4-color collection of long lasting matte lipsticks.
Traditional silk-wrapped cardboard palette with a nice size mirror embedded on the top fold. The pans are firmly embedded. When I hold it it doesn’t feel cheap or gimmicky. I’ve ordered an eyeshadow palette from BH Cosmetics once before and it open at the top and on each side, it was doing a bit much for those tiny pans but the pan size on this palette is larger than a quarter and the highlighters are baked and have a domed shape which they made sure wouldn’t be damaged when you close the case… they’re in there pretty good. Last but not least, let’s get to the graphics and imagery of the palette. It’s dainty (purple, pink, with rose gold accents) and it’s a military tag that represents Missy Lynn since she’s active member in the military. I love that they kept that in mind instead of just slapping names and photos on it. It looks great on the vanity with my other eyeshadow palettes.
1 eyeshadow – white with pink tones with a frost finish
2 eyeshadow – deep rose brown with a frost finish
3 eyeshadow – medium eggplant purple with a frost finish
4 eyeshadow – medium warm brown a frost finish
5 eyeshadow – rich purple with a frost finish
6 eyeshadow – cool grey-toned purple with a frost finish
7 highlighter – rose gold highlighter
8 highlighter – champagne highlighter
No complaints or issues here. BH Cosmetics is known for their pigmented eyeshadows and I found this collection to be nice, smooth, and pigmented.
THE BOTTOM LINE
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this palette is great! The quality, pigmentation, and collaboration is perfect. I definitely think they should do a matte eyeshadow and/ or highlight palette as a follow up. I’m not a fan of palettes that focuses on a singular color (for this one it was the color purple) but that my personal preference and I don’t think most share that preference. For the highlighter shades alone it’s worth the purchase and it’s on sale for $9 so you can buy one for yourself and a friend.
