My Lazy Night’s Skin Care Routine
It’s not often that I go to bed without completely washing my face. My rule of thumb is that if I have 30 minutes to put it on, I have 3 minutes to take it off. That doesn’t mean I don’t have lazy nights where I just want to get in the bed but it isn’t often. I also enjoy cleansing my skin and when my skin is looking good, I feel good.
I keep 3 items on my headboard specifically for nights like this; Lint-free Cotton Rounds, Bifesta Cleansing Lotion (Brighten Up), Humphrey’s Citrus Witch Hazel Toner, and Luxe Oil Maracuja Oil. I use Thyler’s Peach Toner when I’m looking for a change but like Humphrey’s a lot more. I know you’re probably thinking, “girl just use a makeup wipe.” I’ve tried a few brands and do like them but they’re so many irritants that my eczema just can’t catch a break with them. They often make my skin itch and some leave me feeling dirty or just not clean enough. When you check the ingredients of many makeup removing wipes and towelettes are filled with a lot of ingredients I can’t pronounce let alone want on my face. The method I use doesn’t take me any longer than if I was using wipes either, at least for me it doesn’t. I also love it because I can customize it for my skincare needs. I have an ongoing battle with blemishes and hyperpigmentation so I’m always looking to exfoliate and brighten.
Both Bifesta and Humphrey’s have products geared towards dry skin, mature skin, and even sensitive skin care needs. The Luxe Oil Maracuja Oil is great balancing oil that can be used for all skin types. Another reason I go with a more customized routine is due to my allergies. Lately, I’ve noticed that leaving even a trace of eye makeup really irritates my eyes in the middle of the night or in the morning.
