Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant Review
Unilever quietly rolled out 5 new Dry Spray Antiperspirants (Dove, Dove Men+Care, Degree, Degree Men, and AXE $5.49 each) during the winter and I promise this new formula is better than most spray antiperspirants on the market.
I have a confession– I get like really musty and according to chats with friends I also get musty faster than most. I have to apply deodorant as soon as I get out of the shower, even before applying body oil. I’ve even washed and scrubbed my pits twice in the shower because I’m convinced I’ll get musty before I can put on deo. Weird part is that I don’t have body odor, when I sweat I actually smell sweet. But I guess one can’t have it all.
This is my first time using a spray antiperspirant that actually works nearly as good as my solid ones while keeping me dry because I hate feeling moisture and wetness. I first tested the Dove version (which I love the most because of the classic clean Dove scent) at night after a shower. As soon as I woke up I could smell the fragrance which could annoy those that are scent-sensitive but I don’t have an issue with it and found it to be pleasant. Degree Dry Spray Antiperspirant has the same formula but the scent is lighter. Since it worked well overnight I decided to give it a go during the day and reapplied a few bursts under each arm and to my surprise it kept me dry (for the most part) and funk-free. This was just a regular 8-hour day hustle & bustle of getting on the train and office work. Without reapplying mid-day as directed I feel that it performed pretty well. No white chunks, no streaks on my clothes, dry, and was odor-free by the end of the day, so it’s winning. If you plan on having a more active day or going to the gym I would suggest applying.
It feels like Dove was preparing us for an antiperspirant like this during their recent “Pit-a-cure” campaign when they raised the concern about the heavy amount of product that builds up and has to be frequently exfoliated and comes off during shaving.
