How to Deep Clean Your Makeup Brushes… oh joy
I don’t know how you spend your Friday nights but I like to turn up! Talk about living it up. Deep cleaning makeup brushes can be joy for some but for my it has and always be the least entertaining part about playing in makeup. The good news is that you can use my method below to cut down on time on the task and drying time.
2 stainless steel bowls – I only use one in the photos but I like them better because they don’t collect a film around the bowl from makeup, keeping everything as clean during the process.
Liquid Dish Detergent – My brand of choice is Palmolive
Beauty Blender Solid Sponge Cleanser – Cleaning makeup sponges with liquid soap is a pain in the… it feels like it never rinses clean and I just don’t have the time. This solid cleaner also handles more stubborn jobs like my flat foundation and concealer brushes.
2 Large Bath Towels – one to dry your brushes after rinsing and the other to place your brushes on to dry completely
Japonesque or Moda Studio Brush Cleaner – I use this to snatch out any remaining soap or product, speed up the drying time, and sanitizes. I don’t use these as the main cleanser because it uses too much product and is too powerful.
