The coochie has gone high-tech.

The kGoal Smart Kegel Exerciser by Minna is looking to change our approach and awareness of the benefits of proper kegel exercises. Kegels are pelvic floor exercises, consisting of the controlled contraction of tightening and relaxing of your pelvic floor muscles (also called kegel muscles). Although kegels muscles are used to enhance the sexual experience, they’re actually used to help reduce urinary incontinence as well. Weight, age, and abdominal surgeries, and child birth all impact urinary incontinence. For decades tools have been used to improve these muscles but as times change so does technology and one of the most advanced devices on the market is the kGoal by Minna. It uses Bluetooth (short-wavelength UHF radio waves to exchange data) from your Android or iPhone to communicate to the KGoal device. You setup reminders and goals to exercise as you would with any other workout routine and complete various types of kegel exercises. You can do a timed freestyle exercise or one where you follow the patterns giving to you from the device. Then the data is recorded in the kGoal app (free) and it tracks history, strength, endurance, and control. Within a week I noticed an improvement in all categories *work ya muscle bae*. I also love that the Minna team really does care about this device and its use. The app is frequently updated, they just released a new game, and they listen to users for feedback. If you’re looking for a more low-tech version that you can use while performing many exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor, click here.

The first session was strange but not uncomfortable. The larger bulb/ pillow is inserted while the “arm” has a button that controls the power and connectivity. To deflate and inflate the bulb you simply press the silver disk on the other end. Exercises should be completed in the same position to ensure the data is accurate. So if you start on your back, remain on your back. If you start stand upright, remain upright. It’s very easy to use. The most challenging part for me is remembering to exercise… yes even with the reminders. They only take a few minutes to complete but it’s not easy getting into the routine. I’m used to just doing them when I remember (not even correctly) and other women I know say they do them everyday. But I have gotten better. I’ve read a few reviews that mention discomfort or pain. I didn’t have any. Don’t get me wrong it was strange as hell the first few times but not discomfort. Maybe those people need to try a different model like the ones you can get on lovegasm, but for me this is great. I also make it a point to remain calm and relaxed while using the kGoal. I also make sure I press the silver disk to deflate the pillow (also referred to as a bulb).

The device conveniently charges using a USB port (usually at my desk from my computer, my iPhone charger, or laptop. I charge it once every other week, sometimes less. Overall I feel that it’s a great investment. Call me crazy but I think it’s crazy that we pay so much for sanitary products while having periods, only to get to menopause and not spend money on those products, just to have to keep buying adult bladder products because we didn’t exercise a muscle.

Would you use a kGoal Smart Exerciser or is it doing too much?
