Now this is a holiday collection I can get with.

L’Occitane Arlésienne collection for their holiday 2014 collection is inspired by the woman of Arles.  Vincent van Gogh also created a series of paintings inspired by the women of Arles during his stay in the city, so L’Occitane must be on to something.

Described as “daring and gracious, the woman of Arles encompasses the beauty of Provence. Elusive and attractive, she leaves a fragrant trail bursting with color and life, that lingers wherever she goes. L’OCCITANE celebrates the beauty and refinement of this iconic woman with Arlésienne, our newest fragrance collection; a subtle bouquet of rose for her grace, sweet violet for her mystery and saffron for her temperament.“

The hit the nail on the head with the description.  I initially described this fragrance as being romantic without being too overly sensual (which is valid) but I really just find it to be epitome of femininity.  From the soft floral notes, vibrant pink packaging, to the brushed rose gold accents.  It’s really girlie yet not age specific so it’s safe across the board for women that love soft, clean, floral notes.  It has great balance because of the softness from the wood notes and vibrancy from mandarin orange notes yet comes together in perfect harmony.

The notes

Shower Cream ($20.00/ 8.4 fl oz) – this liquid body wash has a super fine iridescent shimmer that looks great in the bottle but thankfully doesn’t remain on the body

Body Oil ($36.00/ 2.5 fl oz) – I’m a fan of L’Occitane body oils! It’s something that they nail every single time.  It’s more lightweight than the Almond Supple Skin Oil but the scent lingers longer.  If you need more moisture you can simple layer the Beauty Milk over it.

Beauty Milk ($25.00/ 8.4 fl oz) – I’m more of a body cream girl but sometimes I do get annoyed when they take too long to long to completely dissolve (you know the white phase), so this lightweight milky lotion is great when you need to just moisturize before you get in the bed.

Eau de Toilette ($50.00/ 2.5 fl oz) – The sillage is soft and even when layed does not becoming overwhelming.  I was able to wear the entire collection before bed and didn’t have to apply anything the next day.  It has a “you don’t think I’m wearing perfume because you think I naturally smell great” quality about it.  It can easily become ones signature fragrance.

Velvet Hand Cream ($12.00/ 1 oz) – Same formula we all know and love but with the Arlésienne scent. The hand creams are a nice affordable way to layer and your own twist on fragrances you already have.

Since it’s the holidays I totally recommend grabbing the Arlésienne Star Gift set ($68.00) because it’s a great value and includes the following:

  • Arlésienne Eau de Toilette 2.5 fl.oz
  • Arlésienne Shower Cream 2.3 fl.oz
  • Arlésienne Hand Cream 1 .oz
  • Arlésienne Body Milk 8.4 fl.oz
