Taraji Glow Mineralize Skinfinish was described by MAC as a reddish brown Mineralize Skinfinish Natural but it’s definitely not an addition to the natural line up. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural are baked minerals with medium coverage to give a natural finish. You can wear these powders alone or use as a setting powder over foundation. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish are highlighters (sometimes more of a blush than a highlight) that should not be worn but in highlight areas or blush… unless you’re participating in a Youtube highlight challenge. Funny how the word natural can take your makeup look from natural to disco queen so I’m hoping it was was just an oversight or an error because it can really send a newbie down the wrong path. Both “Taraji Glow” and “Highlight the Truth” is easily one of the top 10 MSFs released from the brand. If you remember the MAC Colour Craft collection of Mineralize Skinfinishes these will feel a little familiar. The texture is beautiful, they give you a glow without the heavy shimmer (just lots of dimension). The coral tones of “Highlight the Truth” reminds me of one of the shades in “Warm Blend” and “Taraji Glow” is like the cousin of “Metal Rock”, instead of cool brown tones we get this rich warm glow. “Strip Me Down” was described by MAC as a deep toned beige. I don’t see it. I see a mauvey brown. Maybe even a deep warm tan, but I don’t see beige.
I can’t find an issue with this collection at all. The shades are universally flattering on most skin tones from light to deep, you can wear it to work or glammed up, and *drumroll please* it’s ageless! In my Oprah giveaway voice “YOU CAN WEAR IT! YOU CAN WEAR IT! YOU CAN WEAR IT TOO! EVERYONE CAN WEAR IT!”
