Just a few swatches from MAC Cosmetics “Wash & Dry” Collection that’s due to be released both in stores and online today!
It’s hard to take your eyes off the metallic trio of colors with this packaging. Whenever MAC does limited edition packaging with a collection you know you’ll have to get something. Although the sun decided to play a cruel game of hide & seek this weekend I was still able to grab a couple of great swatches in natural lighting. When I look at a collection as a whole I want it to feel cohesive and tell a story and sometimes I don’t get that with MAC Collections. Wash & Dry is clear and cohesive. You can look at it in its entirety and know that it was created with spring and summer in mind and nothing feels out of place. It feels bright, it feels fun!
Morage Lipstick (amplified) – A beautiful bright orange with a hint of white. It’s your basic bright almost neon orange. I find it to be pretty neutral as it doesn’t have too much red, blue, or yellow but the white makes it pop on the lipsticks.
Laundry List Lipglass – I’m so happy that this color isn’t exactly like Morage Lipstick! It’s a juicy orange with a hint of coral minus the white tones. You can wear it alone but layered with the lipstick it perfect.
Green Clean Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Trio – This eyeshadow trio isn’t my favorite for a few reasons. Visually it looks great but with such narrow wide pans it was a pain to get my finger into. I also tend to use eyeshadow brushes that are larger than the pans and don’t like fussing to get product out. The color combination also reminds me of That Trillion Dollar Look quad from The Simpsons collection… not in terms of exact colors but it’s almost the same color scheme. Now if you didn’t get that quad get this one. You can never go wrong with green eyeshadows during summer because it pairs so well with orange, coral, peach, and bronzed skin.
