MAC Film Noir Blush Swatches + Review
MAC “Film Noir” Powder Blush ($22.00/ 6 g / 0.21 US oz) is described as a “rich warm chocolate with a matte finish”.
When I bought this blush I the plan was to use it how I use MAC “Blunt” Powder Blush; as a nice soft everyday cheek contour and to set my cheek contour when using a contour cream. But when I swatched it I could tell it was too warm to use it as such but decided to use it as a regular blush.
In my opinion it’s more brownish-red than reddish-brown, if you get what I’m saying. MAC could release a blush with the same depth and I’d still buy it. If you you’re medium to dark skin toned you can pull off “Film Noir” but if you lean towards more fair skin it might be too deep in color.
The formula is good; I was able to blend with my fingers without it looking powdery or cakey. The product is packed really well and not as silky as other mid-level brands I’ve used but I also don’t have to worry about it breaking or cracking from dropping it. The packaging is classic MAC; matte black casing with a flip top and see-thru cover. It’s also available as a refill pan at a discount.
