OPI Hawaii Collection (Spring/Summer 2015)

OPI is sending us on another tropical getaway, this time with the Hawaii collection for spring/ summer 2015.  The 12-piece collection features a mix of pastels, shimmer, bright cremes, and glitters for all to enjoy and is inspired by the islands of Hawaii.  I found the formulas to be pretty consistent and only had issues with “This Color’s Making Waves”.  I didn’t find it to be opaque enough and took 3 coats.  The color I was hoping to love the most was “Just Lanai-ing Around” but it wasn’t flattering.  I love mauves but my great grandmother was the queen of mauves, especially warm mauve nail colors.  Don’t completely give up on the color.  It’ll look great for floral nail art and paired with rose gold designs.  The color that really shocked me was “Do You Take Lei Away?”  You guys know I love nude and neutral colors and this baby is a stunner!  I don’t own anything like this, it’s not too yellow or pink and has just enough color.  If I’m right it’s a repromote from another limited edition OPI shade but the name slips my mind right now.

As much as I love how OPI collections tell a story I wish the collection would be more cohesive.  I’m not talking about being matchy-matchy but just a sense of togetherness without solely relying on the color names.
