5 Commanding Lipsticks for Spring and Summer
It’s impossible to attend The Makeup Show and not snag some of the best lipsticks the industry has to offer and this year was no exception. Attempting to make my “fun” lip colors my everyday colors this season I wanted to make sure I was prepared for every spring and summer activity Los Angeles has to offer this year by wearing more color. Here’s a round-up of 5 of the season’s hottest lipsticks!
Smashbox Cosmetics x Donald Robertson in Bing – This classic matte red lipstick comes in a limited edition square matte black tube designed by the one and only Donald Robertson, one of three founders of MAC Cosmetics, President of Estee Lauder Companies, and artist extraordinaire. This is probably one of the most underrated limited edition lipsticks I’ve ever seen.
Keyyn Aucoin The Matte Lip Color in Resilient – I love the formula of this moisturizing non-drying matte finish lipstick. Encased in a somewhat slim but heavy round tube, the bright pink makes it perfect for spring! It reminds me of tulips and has a soft floral scent.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Countess – Matte fire orange red lipstick that’ll pair well on all skin tones. Pair it with gold or bronze tones to really make it pop. This one has a classy but bad ass round studded tube with a soft vanilla scent. Definitely easy to spot this one in your makeup bag.
Youngblood Mineral Makeup Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipstick in Vanity – This peachy nude feels great on the lips! It’s emollient, ultra-pigmented, and matte. Part of a 3-piece nude collection this pairs great with brown lip liners as a nice ombre.
AJ Crimson Crimson Rose Lipstick – Created by celebrity makeup artist AJ Crimson, this namesake red lippie commands attention. Encased in a domed shiny silver tube with a nice vanilla scent this rich crimson red is sure to bring out every girl’s LeToya Luckette.
Note: I’m aware of the type-o on Kevyn’s name in the edit.
